Just don't let me disappear, Imma tell you everything [W10, post-trial]

[The trials are getting worse and worse, he thinks. This time, at least, he's shaken for a whole other reason beyond being a suspect. It was a bloodbath in the last three days and all because someone he cared about very much was, again, taken possession by something none of them could be prepared for.

He's quietly letting Adam lead him back to their room. He's marginally concerned since Yuno's across the hall and he's remembering how she behaved during the trial and now this. She knows he voted for Dave. But in the end it was a good thing, right?

He has enough clarity to unlock the door so he and Adam can enter and climb up the ladder. It's only when they're up in the main portion of the room that he's staring blankly. In the calamity of everything that had happened, he'd managed a couple of things on his own. They're things he means to tell Adam now, but instead:]

...I think I'm gonna be sick. [It's hyperbole, but he does tug at the makeshift leash, pulling Adam with him toward his bed before easily sliding the scrunchie and twine off his wrist. He's been capable of removing it after some time fiddling with it, but Adam will now realize that it was simply because he didn't want to after a while. Accountability. It saved him today, and he knows that.]

[ Adam does the leading and for once, he feels like he's actually doing something. That was terrifying and horrific—how many people even died during the fight? He didn't count but the thing that matters to him is that Luke is there and safe and that's how he's keeping himself together. He was telling Luke the truth when he said that his goal is to get them back safely, anything else that happens is an afterthought. He can't exactly ignore the fact that people have died, people who were good and kind (he was even beginning to like Emily), but things are still alright if Luke's alive.

He watches him take off the leash, not surprised. He's always figured Luke could get out of it; he carries around for a sword for God's sake and Adam left him alone a few times in the trial. He's always known that Luke was appeasing him but he doesn't mind that. It made him feel safer during the trial and it was appreciated. But he knows that right now, Luke is very much not alright, so he closes the small distance between them to hug him tightly. It's firm and sturdy, enough to tell Luke that he's fine with being leaned on but it's also tight and a bit shaky because this is for him as well. He's so, so glad Luke is alive.

There's nothing he can say yet, he wants to see if Luke is even ready to talk about this. ]
