Name: Luke Castellan
Canon: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Age: 23
Canon Description: Luke's specific Wiki and General PJO Wiki including links to the five books in the series.
Basically, young kid named Percy Jackson discovers he's a demigod, gets sent to Camp Halfblood, finds out he's part of this huge prophecy that depicts the fate of the world as a war starts between the gods and the titans that have been revived with Percy being the hero of the prophecy and Luke being the one to help out on the titan's side.
**As a side-note, Luke will also be coming in post-death and I've been told this is still okay!
Personality: As a demigod living in the mortal world, Luke grew up filled with fear and bitterness until he ran away at the age of 9 and this early independence helped him grow more skilled in the arts of thievery and trickery, using his Demigod powers to survive in the mortal world and protect himself from the monster attacks. After his first, and only, encounter with his father Luke grew into someone who was determined to prove himself. Because of this strong desire Luke became the type of boy to question everything and to act recklessly in order to establish a name for himself. He hates being pitied, and he hates being treated as someone who doesn’t deserve the answers he seeks. He’s the type of boy who will do anything and everything to exact revenge and to get his way, even if it means hurting people in the end. He’s a crafty sort of boy with an endless amount of resources available to him. He's able to set plans into motion with only a handful of flaws that come from his own carelessness, and it’s this determination that made him the perfect vessel for a titan named Kronos who was interested in tearing down Olympus and creating a new order of titans overruling gods.
Being a strong fighter and good-looking is a dangerous combination, and Luke’s been shown to use that to his full advantage in gaining exactly what he wants. It’s a show of his skill when it’s noted that nearly everyone in Camp Half-Blood was surprised by his ultimate betrayal. Even though most of the campers saw Luke for what he was, there were certain people that still believed he was a good person, such as a girl named Annabeth, whom Luke saw as family. He uses this trust to his advantage without any sort of remorse at first. Despite the fact that he was ever-so-willing to toss aside his friends once he realized they weren’t going to join his efforts overthrow the gods, in the end he is shown to care very deeply about them, especially those with whom he has deep past bonds with.
Though Luke is very much a person who is strong-headed and highly goal-oriented and generally unafraid to use dirty means to get there, there are a few things that can change him. While he’s normally someone who is very strong and feels that he can handle things on his own, there are several points where he retreats and tries to run away from his duties when he feels like the pressure’s too much. For the last half of his canon Luke wavers on a very, very thin line between being Kronos’ vessel and being Luke Castellan. There’s a remarkable amount of sheer will in him that allows him to continually rebel and fight for control of his body after Kronos takes over all. Because of this, he was able to be contacted by Annabeth during the final battle and understand the gravity of what he'd done. The last thing Luke did during his life was a blatant act of bravery as he ended his life and thus ending Kronos. He proves to everyone present that he didn't want Olympus to end and that he was almost remorseful for his actions. In his last moments he proved that he genuinely cared about people and that he wanted to try to make up for his actions by going for rebirth. But on the other hand, there are still things even with his last dying breaths that prove he wants everything that he’s done to be used as an example to never let these things happen to demigods ever again. Somewhere in the back of his mind? He’s still convinced he had the right to be as angry as he was even all the way into his death.
Abilities:
As a Demigod, Luke possesses powers that mortals (usually) don't including the ability to see through the mist, which is basically this magic veil that prevents mortals from seeing monsters, gods in their true form, etc. Particularly as the son of Hermes, he has the following abilities:
-Able to magically break all locks
-Able to steal anything without notice
-Acute sense of awareness that allows him to sense traps, monsters, other Demigods, etc
-Alchemy skills (probably not viable, but could probably be applied to poisons or the like)
-Art of persuasion - Luke has the capability to easily manipulate anyone he wants to get whatever he wants
-Teleportation
**The following are powers Luke possesses while he's acting as a vessel for the titan Kronos**
Curse of Achilles - Before taking on the titan completely, Luke bathed in the River Styx and thus became invincible save for his Achilles heel which is located under his left armpit. He's more enhanced for battle with this invulnerability and shows a significant increase in strength, speed and stamina. However, he also expends energy faster if he's not careful.
All powers will be depowered by game standards as necessary!
Non-Demigod abilities include his remarkable swordsmanship. Various members of Camp Halfblood have cited that Luke is the best swordsman the camp had seen in 300 years. Additionally he is trained in other forms of hand-to-hand combat. And though not necessarily a magical ability, Luke does have an incredibly strong will that makes him resistant to mind control, etc.
Note On Powers: Luke will be unable to access his Curse of Achilles and Teleportation powers. Luke will retain his ability to break locks, but will be unable to break more than one a day. (He can break into other people's rooms if he wishes, along with the Chapel and such. He cannot break into rooms that have not been ICly revealed.) He will be able to steal, as long it is discussed with the player of the character he is stealing from. His persuasion and intuition for traps will be slightly nerfed to what a normal human would be capable of. He may keep his alchemy ability if you feel you will be able to use it effectively in game!
Suitability: N/A seeing how Luke is half-human, though will elaborate if needed.
Alignment: Luke falls somewhere between chaotic neutral and neutral evil. He's not wholly evil in that he'll recklessly do things just for fun, but he always has a plan in mind and he's always very specific about his wants and his goals and doesn't let anyone stop him from those goals, even people he aligns himself with. However at the end of the day if he decides to change his mind at the last minute he'll blow off his original plans in order to fulfill his own wishes (see: going against the plan he'd formed with Kronos for years in order to sacrifice himself and fulfill the Great Prophecy and save Olympus.)
Motivations: More often than not Luke's strongest motivation is answers whether it's answers about the spaceship, answers about his revival from his death, answers about other people's motivations, etc. Power. Gain. Free will. Self-defense. To protect Annabeth and Thalia. Forming an alliance with someone else would also serve as a motivation to him. Luke as a whole is generally a selfish person while also being the type to kill to protect things he cares for which sometimes changes.
