That Time They All Met in the CQ

[chiseler]

[Let's be honest, nobody had time to info-share Monday what with motives going live after they came down from the top-level deck and also…you know. The whole awkward thing with the corpse. That happened.

Arrangements are made, the whiteboard's been moved and…there's a wedding.

What the fuck, Cradle.

Either way, assume that Luke found your character in person, sent a message via Furry Passing or contacted them via some other means to inform them about a group meeting up in the Captain's Quarters after the wedding to talk about their findings from the day before.

He's not a leader, and it's probably clear from the way he's leaning against the wall next to the whiteboard and dumping handfuls of space-brand Skittles into his mouth.]

All right…so this happened. [This, of course, being the top deck.] We were all up here yesterday and so we should probably start figuring stuff out. It weirds me out that Alice let us up here now after all this time. [He shrugs.] Who wants to go first?

[Yeah. This sure is upsetting but at least Adam's the only one who knows. He doesn't bother trying to reach for the paper either. That should say something.]

Oh yeah, real useful to a dead planet. [He rolls his eyes, but he mutters:] That makes my existence here even more confusing.

[antietam]

They must have really wanted you. Percy would have been easier to get. There's no way they took you from wherever and revived you without intending it.

[chiseler]

I dunno about that. I have a feeling Percy's probably really busy after everything. [Cleaning up after Luke's mess, mostly.] It does raise the question of why they found me and went through everything to revive me if Percy had been their goal. Who screwed up?

[He snorts though.] And at least they have a little bit of a sense of humor to appreciate the irony of all this.

[antietam]

No matter how busy, it's definitely easier to grab someone who's already alive than someone who's dead and needs to be revived. [ He looks really serious about this. ]

They could have gotten someone more fitting like a child of—Aphrodite, right? But they still wanted you more.

[chiseler]

[A short pause, and then a murmur:] Yeah, well, I helped get the head counselor of Cabin 10 killed so I'm not sure they'd go after a child of Aphrodite either. [Ughhhh. But Adam has a point (as usual.)]

...do you think they did it just to see if they could? We know Furry Passing is used to help people communicate with the dead, but maybe they wanted to see how far they could take it.

[antietam]

Maybe. A child of Hades would be more interesting in that sense, though. You mentioned zombies.

It's just a hunch, but I think they wanted you for something different. If you were trying to save your planet or your ship or whatever, wouldn't you want the hero?

[chiseler]

I did mention zombies, you're right. But there's a different between zombies and...whatever's going on here. I didn't think zombies could be intelligent so maybe I'm not one.

[Thanks Luke. But his expression softens a tiny bit as it usually does by now when Adam says something he really wants to believe, but he shrugs.] Of course I would, but. [...yeah how do you argue? He was, in fact, the hero whether it seemed that way or not.] I sort of wish we could find their other notes. They have to have done more research on how to pull us here at all.

[antietam]

[ He's tempted to make a joke about Luke's intelligence and zombies, but now's not the time. Later. ]

I don't think we're done discovering things. Apparently the captain timed these things to open for the suspense and drama. [ He's a little quieter when he asks: ] You won't worry about this too much, will you?

[chiseler]

[Thanks buddy.]

The captain's got nothing better to do? You're probably right. We're not done. [But most of his anger's turned down from "I want to destroy the terminal/Percy Jackson" to simmering under the surface so there's that. More than anything he also looks mildly disappointed.] When have you ever known me to worry about something like this? It's stupid.

[antietam]

[ That's still concerning to him but he also knows they can't have a Talk here so he'll just take note of it. ]

It is stupid. Just remember what I said. That I'm lucky you're here.
