I'm personally putting my money on a virtual reality mind prison theory at the moment. [Is that a joke. It is not entirely a joke.] It seems simple enough. It probably wouldn't even take too long to build if we borrow from other schematics.
Two things. Explain this theory to me because I have ideas and I don't like them, and borrowing schematics is fine if you know where you're borrowing from. Do you?
They can take pictures from anywhere as if we're alone, the place looks like a front, bein' shrunk down felt like a glitch more than anythin', and those cracks in reality were nothin' if not reminiscent of clippin' out of game boundaries.
[There are serious implications to that theory, and he doesn't want to discuss them. For now, it's just a casual thought.]

So...we've got one of two theories here. We're either reborn from some seriously fucked up past lives, or we're dropped into someone's game of The Sims that they bootlegged from somewhere. [A pause.] Could explain why all of the horses disappeared though. But if that's true that's even more reason to want to see where our boundaries are, isn't it?
That would depend if the replacement animal was cool. [He rolls his eyes.] On the other hand I never had to worry about people bringing horses into my bar so maybe you have a point. That's the one mystery that still baffles me, you know? That's the elimination and replacement of an entire species. Who says they can't do the same to us?
[He opens his mouth...and closes it again because. Wow.]
That's deep. And also true, sort of. Even with everything from the hallucinomemories or whatever, we still remember everything about our current lives, don't we?
We do, but it's possible these lives will start to feel pale in comparison. Maybe not for some, but given the sword you're rockin' and my flashsteppin', the hallucinomemory experiences for both of us are going to be vivid and maybe impossible to reconcile with the lives we have here. In which case, it could end up being a competition where the strong impression wins out on our personalities.
So a case in which whatever we're remembering alters us completely and changes us for better or worse. I could say that some of us are stronger than that and won't let this bullshit change us, but pretty sure we both know that's a lie. [That's also disturbing.]
