Have you ever heard of the app "Retrospec"?

freaky weird app that auto-installed on your phone, seems to follow you everywhere, already knows your name and shows up no matter what device you're on but disappears on people?

nope. never heard of it

I'll take that as a yes. How do I delete it?

yeah about that, you kind of don't? I've had the stupid thing for a month and every time I try to delete it it comes back. any other ideas?

Okay that is ridiculous. So it IS like a virus. Have you talked to the people behind the app? Or behind the app store?

pretty sure it didn't come from the app store and from what I've heard the guys behind the app don't even hang out in their own offices. have you checked out the new building a few blocks down from the bar?

No, I haven't but I guess I should go see. If they have an office there must be someone there at some point, right?

Why didn't you tell me about this, if you've had it for a month? If it's like a virus you could have spread it into the wifi at home or the bar, infecting my poor phone.

I don't know. I've been checking back every now and then and not a single person's been there. lights are on and stuff but nobody. nada.

and I TRIED to show you but the app kept disappearing and I didn't feel like another "Luke you're being weird" talk. if it's a virus then hundreds of people have it at this point. a lot of my customers at the bar have it too

How does an app disappear? But. Okay, I remember that, I thought you were being weird. So, now we're both weird. Or the app is, I don't know.

neither does a magically appearing building but nobody seems to be questioning that. same name as the app btw

I haven't figured it out. I mean about the app, not that we're both weird. I already knew we were both weird. I need to text thalia and see if she noticed anything weird going on suddenly, too. now that she's not in super-exam-lets-throw-more-books-at-lukes-face mode

Buildings don't magically appear. They're designed, built and owned. Apps, though, I'm not so sure anymore.

I'm not weird, you're weird. Thalia has the app too, I texted her for legal counsel. She's pissed, I think. How many books has she hit you with now?

Well, no, but. It had to have happened. I draw the line at buildings appearing from nothing.

No way, weirdness is a learned trait not genetic. We absolutely need to keep track. Maybe add a chalkboard in the bar? 0 Days Since Thalia Has Hit Luke With A Book. ... See, saying that explains why she keeps hitting you.

Oh my god, what happened to horses. I remember horses. I didn't before, though? Or at least I don't remember not remembering them?

So there are sides now? Thalia isn't always pissed off. Just. Most of the time. Maybe. I would still avoid saying that to her.

the chocobo things right? or whatever the hell they are, they still creep me out. we still haven't figured it out and it's been a month.

and there's always sides and my side's always the best side. thalia's pissed like 85% of the time and I don't tell her that to her face much. I'll text her later, if she's freaking out I'll wait until she chills a little

Chocobos, yeah. How has no one figured out anything in a month? You can't just replace a whole species. Except, I guess they. did.

Then obviously I'm on yours. That sounds like a good idea. I don't think she had this apparently magic, building-making, species-replacing app until today either.

I'm your only sister. Unless that's changed, too. (It better not have. I refuse to share your favoritism.) Yeah, I texted mom and dad about it, too. Neither of them had any idea what I was talking about.

We need a new survey.

Dad sometimes has a clue. Going by what statistics we can draw from, I suppose there's always... next month? Since you and others got it last month, and I and others got it this month. So that sounds like it'd be monthly. Did no one have it before your group, so to speak?

Why anyone? would maybe be a better question, but. I don't know. We have to figure this out, logically. Figure out what we know, what we don't know, and move things in the latter column to the former.

stop giving him credit. but there's always next month if that's the pattern we're going on. my app downloaded right before founders day and nobody had ever even heard of it before then. we were the first testers or whatever

you sure that logic is really going to help us with something like this?

You could give him a little more credit. I feel like I should be making notes just to see if the patterns add up, but that also feels like a waste of corkboard space and is coming close to "crazy conspiracy wall with thumbtacks and newspaper clippings". Yet here I am, pulling out my good sticky notes.

Maybe just not right this second, no, but eventually everything makes sense. We just have to... figure it out. You can pry logic from my cold dead hands, Luke, because otherwise I don't know what to do?

could. not going to. also the fact that you have "good" sticky notes is both hilarious and scary, stop that
I may or may not have started a conspiracy board in my apartment but it's mostly hand-written notes on not-good sticky notes
it's going to be fine. whatever's going on, it's not bad it's just...really weird. we've dealt with weird stuff before right? we can check out the building later if you want, we'll bring thals too since she'll probably want to kick the door in. take pictures and notes and figure something out

It doesn't feel fine. I think this is a little weirder than usual. Okay, that'd be good. Thalia would love a chance to kick the door in, and honestly I'd love to see her do it. I'd make a joke about bringing a polaroid camera so the photos on the conspiracy board look extra stereotypical, but that'd be going too far.

I've tried to, but god. So much of it is just. Random junk? Like twitter or facebook. You'd think people would care more about, y'know, the everything about it.
