[He doesn't immediately respond. He's surprised by her sudden backbone, though the curve of his lips says he's pleased to know she's not entirely down for the count. He notices he's overstayed his welcome a bit and he dips his head, still with a little bit of a devilish grin on his face.]

It says enough. We'll do the best we can. [He looks back out the door.] …I should go anyway. I was only supposed to be gone for fifteen minutes. [He's already backing away as well, though he's watching her with a slight amount of concern.]

…and Elizabeth? [He stops in the doorway, regarding her thoughtfully.] You may not inherit sins, but the same can't be said for everyone. Keep that in mind. [With that, he raps his knuckles on the doorframe.] Get some rest. We'll catch up soon.

[And if there are no objections, he'll disappear just as quickly as he'd arrived. It seems as though they both have a lot to do now.]
