[It's not until she says the word "redemption" that it really clicks with him. He doesn't speak up immediately but the expression on his face flickers between pity and understanding and a bit of anger that she's been made to feel this way.]

I didn't have a lot of strong feelings about the guy either but it's still something that should have been avoided. [How, he's not sure. For a moment he pauses again and glances behind him. It's an action he's continually taking to make sure they won't be overheard, though part of him is nervous to continue.]

If yours is a selfish attempt at redemption then I guess you can say that all of this and being here is my selfish attempt at redemption, too. Would you really say that about someone else who didn't really have control in what they were doing? [He doesn't mean himself, but in general.] None of us are gonna last the next couple of weeks if we aren't looking out for each other. I can't guarantee it'll stop people from killing other people, but it's a better path to take. It's like...it's a lot easier to possess someone who doesn't have a purpose and is looking for one. If you want to help people? Make that your purpose. Redemption's a pretty hard road to take. Some people don't even stick around to see it through.
